1000 Days at Sea - Alone

Please visit our sponsor!

As I was catching up on the story of Reid and Soanya on their epic journey I became of aware some events that led to Soanya returning home and leaving Reid to go it alone. I could find no official announcement, and early speculation was that she was just seasick, but according to Soanya's blog entries she is pregnant. She was transferred off of the boat while at sea and returned home to rest and plan for the delivery. Apparently, the pregnancy went fine and baby Darshen was born and doing fine.

Soanya's Blog

Reid continues on with Soanya's support. I found it facsinating that two people could undertake and adventure of this type, even more so for only one to continue alone.

Press release

My best wishes to both Reid and Soanya on their journeys ahead.

1000 Days at Sea – An experimental journey at sea to help space explorers reach Mars.

I was browsing for some sailing information today, specifically on schooners, when I came across this amazing story. I was immediately caught up in the adventure and disappointed that I came across it so late in their journey. Only 202 days left. Still plenty of time left to be a part of it and luckily they have a very nice web site detailing the adventure so far.

I hope to one day lead a similar journey, hopefully for a cause as worthy as this one. I particularly like how much attention they spend on the details of sailing and ship maintenance, self sufficiency, healthy living, and enjoying the beauty surrounding them in the water.

FileBot 1.0.0.4 available

The FileBot program that has been available on my site for the last few years is now located here. This version of the program is currently offered for free. I plan to update the application and provide better structure internally and also look to enhance the user interface. Look for these changes, and probably a new program name, later this year.

Please leave me a comment if you download the application and your thoughts about it.
